Dr. James Hefferan is a native of Jersey City, New Jersey.
He received his undergraduate education at Seton Hall University. He received his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ-NJ Medical School). Dr. Hefferan also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School. Upon completion of his training at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, he pursued an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. 

Dr. Hefferan is certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology & Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions. 

His interests include interventional cardiology, non-invasive diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease and peripheral vascular intervention.
